Caring, sharing & learning together

Sharing, caring & learning together.

Students and Volunteers

We are always pleased to have some extra help at nursery. Some of our opportunities would suit a regular slot and others will work best on an as and when basis. Hopefully, there is something to suit you.

We currently have the following volunteering opportunities:

  • Help to maintain our nursery garden – do you like the outdoors, have some basic gardening skills and a few hours to spare?
  • Help to paint some outdoor furniture – are you good with a brush and have a steady hand with an hour or so to spare?

If you are interested in any of the above opportunities then please contact the school office to discuss them further (01753) 521975 or email admin@slough-nursery.slough.sch.uk unfortunatly due to the current pandemic we are unable to offer any voluntieering work in the classroom.

We regularly support students from the local community through placements at our nursery. We have particularly close links with Herschel Grammar School and have several pupils who work with us every week over the academic year, each giving up an hour of their time to serve their local community.

We have links with other secondary schools and colleges and often support pupils on work experience placements or students completing training for child care qualifications. We have had a number of nursery ex-parents who have returned to complete qualifications with us over the years.

From time to time we also mentor trainee teachers either on PGCE courses or other teacher training routes.

These opportunities are often filled through direct contact with the respective schools and colleges. If you are a student looking directly for your own work experience placement then please contact the school office regarding your enquiry (01753) 521975 or admin@slough-nursery.slough.sch.uk
