Caring, sharing & learning together

Sharing, caring & learning together.

Information

Our nursery school is for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. We have just over 160 places for children, however, they do not all attend at the same time.

Some of our children attend morning, some afternoon and others stay all day. We have three intakes each year (Autumn, Spring and Summer) with children usually starting with us the term after their second or the term after their third birthday. Our children leave us and then start at a range of local primary schools in the academic year they turn 5 years old.

Our classrooms are called ‘homebases.’ This is to reflect a sense of family and the importance we place on this and its associated meaning (security, belonging, togetherness, understanding and acceptance). Just like in a family, all our children mix together during the session and learn lots from each other.

Our blue and green ‘homebases’ are connected and open up into a large play space and each base is directly linked to the garden. This gives the opportunity for ‘free flow’ between the areas. Our garden is open everyday, in all weathers, so children can play indoors and outdoors during each nursery session.

The nursery is staffed with qualified teachers, early years practitioners and teaching assistants. Every child has a key person, who is the main family link for that child and who supports their learning and development.
